Animator
There are many different sub careers in the main field of animation. These include Character Animator, who interprets animatics and scripts. They use the materials to create the performance of 3D characters in models. Game designers especially create the performance of 3D characters and manipulate motion to simulate it into their games. 3D character animators must have a good understanding of physical and emotional performance. Another branch of animation is a modeler. Using the preliminary drawings of a designer’s drafts, a modeler creates the 3D geometry that animators that will later use to create motion. A animation team may be broken up into different positions, including character modeler, prop modeler, and environment modeler. Other subfields include texture artists, who work with animation texture and manipulate photographs of real-time textures, lighting artists, who apply a lighting scheme to characters, schemes, and other animation aspects. Yet other types of animators include a previsualisation artist, as well as a Technical Director, which is basically the glue that holds the team together.

Generally, in order to get into the animation field, you need to successfully complete a full Visual Arts and Design course in university or college. Each program varies from university to university, but generally, it is a requirement that a mandatory Visual Graphics and Art be completed. One such university, which has a very strong program, is the Vancouver Film School, which has quite a unique, yet effective method of preparing their students for animation. All universities will earn you a Diploma of Animation, whether it’s 3D animation, or others.
Below is an example of something that you could do with animation, made by a recently graduated student, from VFS. Check it out, to see a sample of animation.

The average salary of an animator ranges from about 45 000 to 60 000 dollars a year, and that’s only an average job.
One of the BEST, or arguably THE best animator in the modern day is Pixar. Their animations have had revolutionary advancements, including crystal clear precision, and even more innovative features. Tim Burton, another VERY famous designer, is looking to work with pixar, and make his films even better. Tim Burton is quite a famous animator, and is known worldwide for his famous films – The Corpse Bride. Pixar is quite inspirational. When you see their animation, and it’s professionalism, you feel enlightened, and still amazed, and are inspired to do something even relatively close to what they achieved. Plus, it is tons of fun to do animation, because of all the things that you can control. This is one of the reason I passionately love working with Adobe Flash CS3.
