"Review a Commercial"
This ad features a very upbeat song called “Shut up and Let me go” by The Ting Tings. It is a very effective ad, not only because of the high end graphic design, but also the sort of signature format of apples new set of ads.
As most are already, because Apple has done an extremely good job at advertising it to the world, Apple’s advertisements always have people dancing to some music. One of the signature things they always do is get people to dance in front of a green screen, and then edit the video so that they appear to be just silhouettes dancing, with some features coloured in, so that the people dancing are instantly recognizable, if they happen to be famous (for example, the Apple Eminem commercial). This ad also follows this sort of standard – there are a bunch of silhouettes dancing. One additional thing that apple does is that the people dancing follow the beat of the music, just as it is done in this ad.

One of the huge improvements that Apple has made is the background on which the people are dancing. Before, it used to just be a plain coloured background, and simply black silhouettes. Now, the silhouettes have added features, and the background is much more complex and better looking. Firstly, there are tons of random, yet purposeful shapes flying around, as the people dance. This creates a very nice visual effect. The shape’s vast colours also complement that of the background, as well as the person.
All in all, the many different elements (including music, people dancing, background, shapes, movement of people, background, and other things, colour, and many other elements) work very well together to create a unified, harmonized commercial, that make it just that much more effective.
